What's that I hear?
What's your most important piece of studio gear? Some will say it's their computer audio interface. Others will cite the importance of their modeling amplifier or midi controller. For me, nothing is more critical than a good pair of studio monitors.
The audio equivalent of a microscope, fine quality studio monitors reveal what’s really been put to tape or disk. An ideal studio monitor will impart as little sonic characteristics of its own as possible, in effort to reproduce the recorded media with absolute transparency. Along with a mixing board, this is the most critical piece of computer recording equipment.
