While there are many questions regarding this exciting new chapter for the company, demonstrating the high esteem in which the industry holds both brands, MIDAS & KLARK TEKNIK would like to stress that their carefully chosen and highly focussed distribution companies worldwide will remain in place, and that the brands will not be available through any other channels.

MIDAS and KLARK TEKNIK Join the MUSIC Group

Agreement signed with BOSCH
All associates will be transferred
MIDAS and KLARK TEKNIK brands will continue

Today December 8th 2009, the MUSIC Group (www.music-group.net) has signed a deal to acquire MIDAS and KLARK TEKNIK business lines from BOSCH Communications Systems. The MUSIC Group owns the BEHRINGER brand as well as a number of other associated companies and is managed by Uli Behringer and Michael Deeb.
The sale of MIDAS and KLARK TEKNIK is part of an asset deal and an agreement to this effect was signed on 8th of December 2009. The sale is subject to regulatory approval. Acquisition price and terms have not been disclosed.
Currently 106 associates work for MIDAS and KLARK TEKNIK. All of them will be transferred to the MUSIC Group. The MIDAS and KLARK TEKNIK brands will be continued.

Robert Mulatz, Senior Vice President of BOSCH Communications Systems, states that: “MIDAS and KLARK TEKNIK have always epitomized the highest possible performance and reliability in the mixing console and signal processing markets. Within the professional audio business of BOSCH this niche market has not been defined as a core business area due to its size and specific requirements. We believe that in the MUSIC Group we have found both the passion and the financial ability needed to grow MIDAS and KLARK TEKNIK. Among all potential buyers that have been screened, we have selected the MUSIC Group as the best fit.”

BUGERA took the guitar world by storm in 2008 with its high-powered, all-valve amplifiers, and brought an unheard of level of affordability to the marketplace. The new 1990 and 1960 heads provide all the classic, tube-drenched tone of the British amplifiers that sparked a sonic revolution on both sides of the pond.

Hand-built and sporting 120-Watts of all-valve (tube) performance, the BUGERA 1990 is engineered around a classic 2-channel (Clean, Lead) preamp with three (3) ECC83 tubes. The 5881 output stage features a unique power switch, allowing the amp to run in either triode mode, with its softer breakup and 60-Watt output, or pentode mode for a more aggressive, in-your-face, full power breakup. The onboard digital reverb provides vintage-style reverb without annoying spring “crashes.” Channel switching and reverb can be controlled remotely via the included heavy-duty footswitch. An FX loop and frequency-compensated recording output complete the package.

Also hand-built and boasting 150-Watts, the BUGERA 1960 uses a vintage ‘60s preamp design with three (3) ECC83 tubes and dedicated Bass, Mid, Treble and Presence controls. Inputs are provided for Channel 1, with its enhanced treble timbre, and Channel 2, which yields a slightly darker tone. A very useful option is the 1960’s ability to patch the two channels together via a single 1/4" cable, for a tremendously expanded tonal palette. The EL34 output stage includes a variety of impedance options for matching virtually any speaker enclosure. The BUGERA 1960 also features an FX Loop with true Bypass and its own dedicated Level control.

BEHRINGER is proud to announce that five new amplifiers are now available with their proprietary VTC tube modeling technology, an array of onboard digital effects and heavy-duty BUGERA vintage speakers.

Models come in a variety of sizes and speaker configurations including the VT30FX (30-Watts, 1 x 10”), VT50FX (50-Watts, 1 x 12”), VT100FX (100-Watts, 1 x 12”), and the VT250FX, which is a dual 12” stereo 50 + 50 Watt combo. Additionally, the VT100FX is also available in a head version, the VT100FXH.

All VIRTUBE models feature two-channel operation (Clean & Overdrive) for every tone from mild to wild, with an abundance of tone-sculpting EQ. Revolutionary VTC technology emulates the interaction between tube amplification stages, creating tone that is more responsive and richer in harmonic content than typically associated with solid-state amps. The VTC technology can be deactivated, giving the preamp an even broader sound palette. Rounding out each amplifier is a 24-bit digital FX processor with 16 great-sounding reverbs, choruses, flangers and delays.
